Mia’s Canine Cancer Foundation (“Mia’s CCF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of people who visit our
website, support our mission, make donations, volunteer, contact us, or otherwise interact with us. This Privacy Policy explains the types of information we may collect through miasccf.org, how we may use and share that information, and the choices available to you.
1. Information We May Collect
Information you provide directly. We may collect information you choose to provide, including:
· Name, email address, mailing address, and telephone number;
· Donation information, donation amount, frequency, tribute or memorial information, and messages submitted with a gift;
· Volunteer, sponsorship, event-registration, or contact-form information;
· Email newsletter or other communications preferences; and
· Any other information you voluntarily submit to us.
Payment information. Online donations may be processed by third-party payment processors or our website platform. Mia’s CCF may receive transaction details needed to record and acknowledge a donation, but we do not intend to store complete payment-card numbers on our own systems.
Information collected automatically. When you use our website, our website platform and service providers may automatically collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, and interaction data. Cookies and similar technologies may also be used as described below.
2. How We May Use Information
· Process, record, and acknowledge donations;
· Respond to questions, messages, volunteer inquiries, sponsorship inquiries, and other requests;
· Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website and Foundation programs;
· Send newsletters, updates, fundraising communications, event information, or other communications when permitted by law and consistent with your preferences;
· Maintain financial, tax, governance, and donor records;
· Prevent fraud, misuse, security incidents, or unlawful activity; and
· Comply with legal, regulatory, accounting, and reporting obligations.
3. Donations and Payment Processing
When you make an online donation, payment information may be collected and processed by the payment processor or website platform used by Mia’s CCF. Those providers may process information under their own privacy policies and terms. Before launch, Mia’s CCF will identify the applicable donation/payment provider(s) in this policy or through the donation interface.
We may use donor information to issue receipts, acknowledgments, and other records relating to a contribution. If a donor chooses to make a tribute or memorial gift, we may use the information provided to administer that request.
4. When We May Share Information
Mia’s CCF does not sell personal information for money. We may share information when reasonably necessary with service providers that help us operate the Foundation, including website hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics, event services, accounting, recordkeeping, security, and similar services.
We may also disclose information when required by law, legal process, governmental request, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, property, or integrity of Mia’s CCF, our supporters, or others.
If you ask us to notify another person of an honor or memorial donation, we may share the donor name and tribute information needed to fulfill that request, but we will not disclose the donation amount unless you specifically authorize us to do so.
5. Cookies and Analytics
Our website and service providers may use cookies, pixels, analytics tools, and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, understand website traffic, improve performance, and measure communications or campaigns. The specific tools used may change as the website develops. Where required, visitors will be provided appropriate choices regarding non-essential cookies or similar technologies.
6. Email Communications
If you receive promotional or fundraising emails from us, you may unsubscribe using the link provided in the message or by contacting us. We may still send non-promotional communications that are reasonably necessary to administer a donation, event registration, volunteer request, or other transaction or relationship.
7. Data Security and Retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the information we maintain. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including legal, accounting, tax, donor-record, fraud-prevention, and organizational recordkeeping requirements.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information online from children under 13. If we learn that such information was collected without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
9. Third-Party Links and Social Media
Our website may link to third-party websites, social-media platforms, veterinary or educational resources, sponsors, or other organizations. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.
10. Your Choices and Requests
You may contact us to request that we update or correct information you have provided, to change communication preferences, or to ask a privacy-related question. Some information may need to be retained when required for legal, tax, accounting, security, or legitimate organizational recordkeeping purposes.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
